Container Images#
OCI-compatible container images are available for simtools users and support both application and development use cases. Runtimes such as Docker, Podman, or Apptainer can be used. Apptainer users should pull the OCI image with a docker:// reference.
Pre-built Images#
Below is an overview of the most-relevant pre-built container images available from the simtools package registry.
All images use almalinux:9.8 or almalinux:9.8-minimal. The simtools production and
development images use Python 3.14.

Important
Container images do not include the interaction tables required by CORSIKA. Follow the CORSIKA documentation for the current table set and installation instructions.
